State Farm® reminds customers to be prepared, complete a home inventory list before disaster strikes
Boise, Idaho, March 15, 2012 - A recent survey released from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) reinforces the importance of a home inventory, indicating an alarming 59 percent of Americans haven’t completed a list.
"We continue to help our customers from all over the country recover in the aftermath of the recent tornadoes,"said State Farm spokeswoman Angela Thorpe. "All too often we see every possession our customers own destroyed in the wake of a fire or a severe storm. Being prepared with a home inventory can make your claim experience easier."
If you’re not sure how to complete a home inventory or have questions about what is and isn’t covered by insurance, connect with your agent and confirm you’re properly insured. State Farm is connecting with their customers in more ways than ever before to invite open communication about insurance needs. In those communications, whether they are through the mail, email, over the phone, via Facebook or Twitter, agents use multifaceted platforms to help their customers take action and make informed decisions.
"There are so many ways to complete a home inventory,"said Thorpe. "From our website you’ll see what we recommend you include in an inventory, you can download a printable document and complete the form. Another suggestion is to simply search the internet for Home Inventory Lists and you’ll find everything from forms and templates to Apps and In the Cloud software."
Whatever listing tool is right for you, State Farm wants you to move from the 59 percent who aren’t prepared for the unexpected. Having the home inventory complete and up to date now will make you feel one hundred percent prepared when your insurance company asks for it.
