Rancho Cucamonga, CA (June 4, 2012) - The State Farm Collegiate Open, presented by ServiceMaster, will make its tour appearance in California June 11-13, 2012 at the Red Hill Country Club in Rancho Cucamonga. The Collegiate open begins on the June 12, where collegiate golfers will play three rounds of golf over two days vying for the top ten men and top ten women finishers to automatically qualify for the national championship in Dallas, Texas this summer.
"While the Collegiate Players Tour was originally set up to provide the average college player an affordable summer competition, we have been blessed with a few players that have made their way to the PGA Tour," said CPT founder Barry Rodenhaver. " We are proud to be able to provide a venue for these young men and women golfers to compete and develop their skills."
The State Farm Open festivities begin with a charity event on Monday, June 11, where State Farm Agents will be playing a round of golf with Collegians to benefit such charities as the Children's Fund, Kiwanis, Shriners and Soroptimist. Making a special appearance during the tournament will be Donna Caponi, LPGA Hall of Famer. The event is open to spectators at no charge.

The CPT is sanctioned by the college golf associations, the Men's Golf Coaches Association of America, the Women's National Golf Coaches Association and the USGA. Of the 96 State Farm Open collegiate golfers competing, ten men and ten women finishers will qualify to play at the CPT championship from August 6-9 at the Texas Star Golf Course in Dallas, Texas.
