(September 12, 2012) – Learning to drive is a big step in life’s journey. This Saturday, September 15, communities across Florida will join together in a show of support for new teen drivers, helping them stay safe as they embark on the road ahead. Floridians are encouraged to attend one of 25 Celebrate My Drive events being held across the state. The marquee event is being held at The Florida Mall in Orlando, and the Orlando area high school with the best participation wins a $100,000 State Farm grant for their school. Additionally, all schools across the nation are eligible to win an extra $100,000 grant for best participation in their local Celebrate My Drive event.
All across Florida, State Farm® will be rallying communities to promote teen driver safety by hosting a total of 25 events simultaneously on Sept. 15. Area residents are encouraged to attend to support teens as they learn to drive and get ready for the road ahead. Interested community members can show their support for a local school by voting online for the school to win a $100,000 grant at celebratemydrive.com between now and September 15. State Farm is giving a total of 14 $100,000 grants to high schools across the U.S. and Canada. Fourteen teenagers (ages 15-18) and their families, who participate in the school grant voting process, will win a grand prize, a brand new Chevy Sonic LS!
