North Carolina Business Committee for Education receives $13,000 State Farm® grant

State Farm recently awarded $13,000 to the North Carolina Business Committee for Education through the Good Neighbor Citizenship grant program to help two key programs.
The NCBCE is a collection of North Carolina business leaders who recognize and support the link between education and economic well-being. The nonpartisan committee has been an important voice in the office of Governor for five administrations. Funding will support the NCBCE Education Resource Guide and the Distinguished Leadership in Practice program.
“As a member of NCBCE and vice president for State Farm, I see the real opportunities between the business world and our student’s education,” said State Farm Vice President Bill Whitney. “By helping our students succeed, we are ensuring our businesses have the resources to thrive. The Good Neighbor Citizenship grant is an example of State Farm’s dedication to education in North Carolina.”
NCBCE’s Electronic Resource Guide offers businesses, organizations and government concrete opportunities to connect with students, schools and educators. Business leaders know that collaboration is vital and are anxious to help ensure that tomorrow’s workforce and entrepreneurs are ready for the global economy.
The Distinguished Leadership program is a partnership between NCBCE and the North Carolina Principals and Assistant Principals Association. Together, they created Distinguished Leadership in Practice, a development program for practicing school principals aligned to State Board of Education standards for North Carolina’s school leaders.Contact
