Grant to Support Ready When the Time Comes Program
Somerville, NJ, March 8, 2012 - State Farm® Insurance Companies awarded the Red Cross of Greater Somerset County a $25,000 Safe Neighbors Grant to help support disaster preparation. The grant will be used by the local chapter to help fund Ready When the Time Comes, a corporate volunteer program that taps the human resources of corporate America.
The Ready When the Time Comes program trains committed teams of employees from partnering corporations. Once trained, this community-based volunteer force can be ready to mobilize and immediately respond to local disasters. Volunteers who are trained and ready to help in times of disaster are always needed. “It’s critical to have volunteer resources trained before a disaster strikes,” said Red Cross of Greater Somerset County CEO Amy Sutton. “These types of partnerships help strengthen our ability to respond in critical situations.”
