Rosenhayn, NJ, February 18, 2012 - Residents of Deerfield Township received a safety boost from State Farm today as representatives presented a $5,000 grant to the South Jersey Traffic Safety Alliance (SJTSA) at the Rosenhayn Fire Department during their monthly Child Seat/ Car Fit event. The grant will support various initiatives including seatbelt safety, safe and sober driving, child passenger, and teen driver safety.
“We have been the beneficiary of previous grants from State Farm and are thrilled that they continue to value our efforts, especially when funding availability is tough”, said Teresa Thomas, program manager at SJTSA. The grant, which allows greater accessibility to a teen driver safety course, also fits into State Farm’s increased advocacy for teen driver safety, increased graduated driver licensing laws, and driver safety education.
“Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teens”, said Bridgeton area State Farm agent, Paula Austin who attended today’s event, “Organizations like SJTSA are successful in communicating driver safety messages and State Farm is committed to helping end these tragedies.”
