September 28, 2012 - Jackson, MS - Jackson State University will accept a $50,000 grant from State Farm®, Mississippi’s largest home and auto insurer. The grant will help boost the university’s computer science department. The Jackson State University grant is one of four awarded by State Farm in 2012 to promote business and technology education curriculum and training across the country.
State Farm will present the grant to JSU on Monday, October 1st at the School of Engineering building atrium at 2:30 p.m. University officials and other leaders will be on hand to accept the gift. State Farm selected Jackson State University for the grant based on the strength of its business and technology education programs. In the past, similar grants at various institutions have been used to upgrade classrooms, purchase equipment, build computer labs or enhance teaching.
