New Jersey School Scores Cash in Big Game Winning Football Play

Livingston High School awarded $2,500 in Friday Night Feats Football Video Contest

Livingston, NJ, April 12, 2012 - State Farm® Insurance Companies awarded Livingston High School a $2,500 cash prize as part of Friday Night Feats, a national video contest highlighting the biggest moments from the high school football season. Livingston High School is one of only 52 schools in the country and only one of 4 in the Northeast to score this award. The winning videos were determined by fan votes on FridayNightFeats.com.

The winning video featured a game that had been pushed into overtime. The Lancers were set up for a two point conversation play. Operating out of a shotgun offense and with the defensive closing in, senior quarterback Andrew Egner threw a pinpoint pass into the end zone. In the middle of intense defensive coverage, senior tight end Chase Larangera made a quick crossing route through the end zone and caught the football for a Lancers overtime win.

“Great plays happen throughout a game, but this was one of those specular football moments. I’m proud of the entire Lancers team and their hard work throughout the football season,” said Lancers Coach Barry Kostibos.

“State Farm is all about being there for life’s big moments. Friday Night Feats is a way for State Farm to recognize the hard work and effort of high school student athletes.  As a Livingston High School alumni class of ’74, I know the rich history of the sports at LHS. I am proud and honored to present this award to the football program and wish all the Lancer student athletes success in their chosen sport,” said State Farm Agent Mike Petronella.

State Farm launched Friday Night Feats in 2007. Since its inception, State Farm has awarded $500,000 to schools across the U.S. and Canada. Many of the winning schools have reinvested the funds back into their football programs. Livingston High School will use funds to purchase some new football and video equipment.

“It’s great that State Farm with its tradition of supporting youth programs chose to honor Livingston High School and its players. It’s obvious that the sportsmanship and hard work that these athletes showed will reward a great program,” said State Farm Agent Scott West.
Please join us in congratulating Livingston High School.
