Starpoint High School scores $2,500 in fan-fueled football video contest
Lockport, NY, February 24, 2011 –State Farm® Insurance Companies awarded Starpoint High School a $2,500 cash prize as part of Friday Night Feats, a national video contest highlighting the biggest moments from the high school football season. Starpoint High School is one of only 52 schools in the country and only one of 4 in the Northeast to score this award. The winning videos were determined by fan votes on FridayNightFeats.com.
The winning video featured senior Cory Regnet intercepting the football and running it back for a touchdown. “Great plays happen throughout a game, but it’s amazing when someone captures a big monument like this. I’m proud of the entire Spartans team and their hard work throughout the football season,” said Defensive Coordinator Shawn Latini.
“I take special pride in presenting the school with this award. Starpoint High School is my alma mater and as a student I played for the Spartans football team,” said State Farm Agent Dan Schmidt. “State Farm is all about being there for life’s big moments. Friday Night Feats is a way for State Farm to recognize the hard work and effort of high school students and help turn their big plays into big moments for their school.”
