State Farm provides grant for environmental education programs.
What: Kids for the Bay, headquartered in Berkeley, CA has been selected as a grant recipient by State Farm Insurance for 2012. State Farm is making an investment of $10,000 to support the organization's Watershed Action Program. The program uses the local watershed environment as a living laboratory to get school students excited about learning hands-on science in the outdoors. The students take action to help restore creek and bay habitats and reduce pollution. The program also provides professional development for teachers and the opportunity for them to learn alongside their students. This year, in 2012, KIDS for the BAY will celebrate its 20 Year Anniversary and 60,000 Inspired Environmentalists as a result of its programs!
A check presentation will take place on Tuesday, February 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Kids for the Bay offices in Berkeley.
