New York - Saratoga County Fair officials recently announced that the Ballston Spa Central School District was selected as one of the top three districts in the school exhibit competition! Student artwork and academic projects were entered from all six schools in the district, producing an outstanding exhibit. Student projects ranged from individual artwork, to photography, a wall size Elvis mural and even a large spider sculpture.
The High School art department was also awarded the outstanding group project for the foam art sculpture. The giant spider sculpture was constructed by the students in Mr. Tim Eckler's sculpture classes utilizing recycled foam donated by State Farm Insurance Company's regional office in Malta. A group of 7th graders also won an award for their Elvis mural.
The district was awarded a TV, a trophy and ribbon from the Saratoga County Fair officials at an awards ceremony on Sunday, July 24th. The district's Coordinator of Development Courtney Lamport organized the exhibit with the help of students, parents and staff members from throughout the district.
