Cheyenne, Wyoming (December 3, 2012) — State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, the largest insurer of autos in the nation, is decreasing its overall rate level in Wyoming an average of 1.0 percent effective December 3. This represents an annual savings of nearly $700 thousand to the company’s Wyoming customers.
After this rate change is implemented, State Farm’s overall rate level in Wyoming will be 12 percent lower than it was 8 years ago.
Overall premium changes for individual motorists will vary depending on factors such as the coverages they carry, the discounts for which they qualify, where they live, the kind of car insured, who drives it, and how much it is driven. The cost of Liability and Comprehensive coverages, as well as the cost of the Medical Payments and Collision coverages will go down for some policyholders and up for others. Comprehensive coverage pays for losses from such perils as theft, storm damage, fire, vandalism and glass breakage.
As part of this rate change, Wyoming customers of State Farm may be able to exercise even more control over how much they can save on their auto insurance with the Drive Safe and Save™ program.
