Ohio, October 26, 2012 Local Strongsville teen Brooke Delventhal's timing couldn't have been better. The day she went to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) to get her driver's permit also turned out to be a lucky one. She passed the test and got her permit that day and it's a good thing, because upon arriving home she found out she was the winner of the State Farm Celebrate My Drive prize a new car.
Brooke is one of fourteen teen drivers across the U.S. and Canada who won the grand prize for their support of the Celebrate My Drive initiative in September. She'll be driving away with her brand new 2013 Chevy Sonic this Thursday October 25th at 6pm from Ganley Chevrolet in Cleveland.
A new approach to teen driver safety, State Farm celebrated new drivers at more than 400 Celebrate My Drive events organized in communities large and small making it North America's largest-ever simultaneous gathering of new teen drivers.
The first Celebrate My Drive event happened this September across North America on September 15th, where high school officials, safety advocates, local law enforcement, and government leaders joined with more than 1,400 State Farm agents and tens of thousands of teens and their parents for a celebration of this year's class of new teen drivers. State Farm is taking a different approach to teen driving safety by sharing positive driving habits and experiences rather than some of the more traditional approaches that often scare new drivers.
