Parsippany, NJ, (June, 2012) - Drunk Busters Anti-Drug and Alcohol driving education program made a stopin Wayne, New Jersey to ensure that its teen drivers will be safe behind the wheel. This program uses pedal cards along with fatal vision goggle to simulate different levels of impairment and how it affects one's ability to operate a motor vehicle. Local State Farm agents Tony Pante and Erin Misurelli were on hand to present a grant in the amount of $3,500 to help the Wayne Alliance in its partnership with the Wayne Police Department in providing this valuable program.
The objectives of the program are to education and demonstrate through hands on experience the effects and dangers of driving while impaired. They hope to reach at least 1500 teens per year.
This donation would be used to assist the Wayne Alliance in conjunction with the Wayne Police Department in starting up this new and dynamic anti-drug and alcohol driving campaign. The program would be targeted towards teenagers from grades 5 through 12. It is the belief that starting with 5th graders will enhance their knowledge at a young age. Most of them are already involved with the local DARE program and are familiar with the officers that will be instructing the course. The police department states that funding from State Farm will provide the necessary resources required to get this program off the ground.
