State's Largest Insurer Helping Customers Effected by Wildfires

Casper, Wyom., September 10, 2012 - Evacuated residents insured with State Farm® are encouraged to contact their State Farm agent right away – even if they don't know yet whether their property is affected by the wildfire.

Agents are reaching out to customers who have been evacuated and answering several of their questions.

“Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by the Sheep Herder Hill Fire and the first priority is the safety of the public,” said State Farm spokeswoman Angela Thorpe. “Right now it's important for those effected by the wildfire to safely follow evacuation procedures and to let us know how to contact them. It is important that our customers save their receipts for any temporary living expenses they incur as these may apply towards their deductible.”

The State Farm homeowners policy provides temporary living expense coverage for homeowners required to evacuate, such as motel, food and boarding animal expenses subject to their policy deductible.

State Farm is the largest insurer of homes and vehicles in Wyoming.
