Newark, Ohio (March 1, 2013) — State Farm® recently presented Habitat for Humanity of Miami County (HFHMC) with $5,000 for home ownership and home repair assistance programs.
“In these economic times, it is exceedingly more difficult for home owners to access funds to complete even the simplest of home repairs,” says Catherine Duff from HFHMC. “We're very appreciative of State Farm's generosity.”
Participants in the program will learn skills that will enable them to care for and appreciate their property. Families who qualify for the program will be able to undergo a variety of repairs to their homes. Participants will be required to attend a class on basic home maintenance and repairs. In addition they will be invited to a series of classes on safety, planning for the future, and other sweat equity classes provided for Partner Families.
