State Farm Life Insurance Company has been awarded the Shingo Bronze Medallion for Operational Excellence; becoming the first financial services company to receive such recognition.
The Company joins a select group of organizations around the world recognized by the Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence. The achievement recognizes State Farm Life's six year journey to continuously raise the bar on the value provided to customers.
The Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to create excellence in organizations through the application of universally accepted principles of operational excellence, alignment of management systems, and the wise application of improvement techniques.
State Farm Life's recognition was earned by a multi-step evaluation process. The final assessment involved a two day site assessment, benchmarking the organization's efforts to the universally accepted standards of the Shingo Model for Operational Excellence.

State Farm Life will be honored at the 25th Annual Shingo International Conference on May 9, 2013 in Provo, Utah. An award presentation will also take place at the company's Bloomington, Illinois headquarters on May 22, 2013.
