State Farm cautions residents to be cautious when selecting a contractor to do repairs to your home. Storms like this tend to attract people looking to make a quick buck. Following three simple steps can help you find a reputable contractor.
First, do your homework, a local contractor with a good reputation is the safest route to a quality repair. Drive by their business and check with the Better Business Bureau.
Second, do not pay in advance. Depending on the extent of damage a contract may be in order.
Third, make sure the company bonded and insured. You do not want to be liable for worksite accidents.
