Bank Customers Solicited For
Sensitive Information
On February 17, 2010, State Farm customers reported receiving an email stating that their account has been accessed from outside the United States. The email contains a link that prompts the customer to share sensitive information such as user ID, password, Social Security Number, and ATM card numbers.
As a reminder, please do not disclose any personal information if requested via an unsolicited phone call or e-mail. Some examples of personal information include:
- State Farm Bank account number(s)
- Credit card number(s)
- Personal Identification Number(s) (PIN)
- Password(s)
- Social Security Number
If you receive such emails or notifications that are questionable, please report them to your State Farm Agent or contact State Farm Bank® at 1-877-SF4-BANK (1-877-734-2265).
