State Farm Bank® credit card customers are receiving phone calls requesting they provide their account number and expiration date to see if they could be given a lower rate. Some customers have also been told that their cards would be charged a small fee for this service. The callers are not associated with State Farm Bank. This scam was designed to capture personal information. Remember, do not provide personal or account related information to anyone through unsolicited calls.
State Farm encourages you to practice good security habits:
Do not disclose any personal identity information if requested via an unsolicited phone call or e-mail, including:
State Farm Bank account numbers
Credit card numbers
Personal Identification Numbers (PIN)
Passwords
Social Security Number
If you are contacted by someone claiming to represent State Farm Bank but you had not solicited the call, please notify your State Farm Agent or contact State Farm Bank at 1-877-734-2265.
