Alert: Recent Phishing attempts utilizing spam emails have been reported by consumers. (Last Updated 08/24/2007)
An unknown number of 'spam' emails appearing to have been sent from either State Farm® Online Securities or State Farm Bank® Customer Service, asked customers to reply using a fraudulent web site link. Additional variations of the emails can be expected. These emails were crafted to appear to be from State Farm Bank, and directed recipients to a web site designed to capture personal information.
For your awareness the following have been linked to these newest phishing attempts:
- Email stating it is from State Farm Bank (using email address of onlinesecurities@statefarm.com or onlineservices@statefarm.com) **there are no such email addresses currently in use for State Farm.
- Link within email shows you as going to the statefarm.com® homepage, but redirects you to www.rogeriomuller.com which is not affiliated with State Farm.**
This Attempt was not connected in any way with State Farm's information and/or data systems or the statefarm.com web site. There has been no breach of State Farm's information or systems; or of any customer information maintained by State Farm.
