Deposit Methods
There are several easy ways to deposit money into your State Farm Bank® account:
- Direct deposit
Electronic payments deposited to your State Farm Bank deposit account. Request the necessary form(s) from your employer or use our convenient Direct Deposit form. For quick, convenient direct deposits for Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or other government benefit (non-payroll) payments use the www.GoDirect.org Web site for easy and convenient sign up.
- Via the U.S. Mail

Do not send cash.
Please be sure to include a deposit slip and/or your account number. In return, you will receive a receipt and another postage paid envelope.
- If you are opening a new deposit account, make your check, money order, or cashier's check payable to yourself. On the back of the deposit item, please write "For Deposit Only-State Farm Bank". Below that, endorse the deposit item with your signature.
- If you are depositing money into an existing State Farm Bank deposit account, all money orders and checks should be made payable to yourself and endorsed on the back with "For Deposit Only, State Farm Bank," your account number, and your signature.
- To expedite your mail-in deposit, include a preprinted deposit slip with your deposit. If you have depleted your supply of deposit slips, you can order additional deposit slips at no charge by clicking onto order checks and deposit slips.
- Telephone
Customers can move funds between State Farm Bank accounts and external bank accounts with a simple toll-free telephone call 1-877-SF4-BANK (1-877-734-2265).
- Internet
Transfer funds between your eligible State Farm Bank accounts and external bank accounts.
- ATM deposits
Deposits can be made at ATMs owned by State Farm Bank or at full service ATMs that participate in deposit-sharing and display the NYCE®, STAR®, or PULSE® logos. Deposit-sharing means allowing customers from other banks to make deposits at their ATM. The actual availability of this function is determined by the institution which owns/operates the ATM.
Withdrawals, transfers and balance inquiries can be made at ATMs that display the NYCE, VISA® / PLUS, PULSE or STAR logos.

State Farm Bank now offers customers the benefit of overnight deposits to open a new account. Learn how.
- Electronic Account Funding
Customers can fund a Deposit Account via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
- $5,000 maximum limit on deposits with the exception of a Money Market Account.
- Money Market Accounts have a maximum EFT deposit amount of $25,000.
- Certificates of Deposit have no maximum transfer limit.
- EFT transfers are not available for Health Savings Accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts or Education Savings Accounts.
- Customers must provide:
- the required Preauthorized Transfer Deposit Funding Form from an agent
- State Farm Bank routing number, 071174431
- a copy of the driver's license
- a voided copy of a check from the external Checking or Money Market Account which was debited to fund the State Farm Bank account.*
* If an external Savings account is debited to fund a State Farm Bank account, customers do not need to provide a copy of the deposit ticket. Indicate "Savings" on the Preauthorized Transfer Deposit Funding form.
- Wire transfers
State Farm Bank can initiate and receive wire transfers. Please contact your Bank-trained State Farm agent® or call the Bank toll-free at 1-877-SF4-BANK (1-877-734-2265) to obtain the form for initiating wire transfers from your State Farm Bank account. To send a wire transfer to your State Farm Bank account, you will first need to contact the sending bank. Please note that most banks charge for this service. The State Farm Bank ABA routing number is 071174431.
