Working for Number One

Mike: There are people here with some tremendous passion, tremendous desire to do the right thing for our customers and that’s the thing I like, I like seeing that. You know, if you take a look at the size of the State Farm Enterprise, we’re 65-70 thousand employees across the country.

Julie: You can walk into almost any neighborhood and you’ll see a State Farm sign.

Melissa: I didn’t really notice before I came to work here how State Farm is everywhere. I’ll go on vacation now and travel in varying places and there will be agent offices everywhere that I notice.

Mike: State Farm is an organization that is much, much larger than just the agent.

Seanan: We have so many locations all over.  There’s really a tremendous opportunity.

Marsha: There’s all kinds of things that have to happen in order to make the insurance part happen.

Seanan: I’m a business analyst in Enterprise Services.

Marsha: I am project manager in the Agency Department.

Mike: Superintendent of Emergency Management

Theresa: Total Rewards Benefits Manager

Jami: Systems Recruiting and Hiring

Julie: Catastrophe Staff Assistant

Troy: I’m an Art Director in Creative Services.

Teresa: I never feel like my career could ever get stale because there are just so many different types of opportunities that I can get into, and that’s exciting.

Melissa: State Farm is big enough that you can move elsewhere within the organization and grow your career.

Mike: I like the fact that State Farm has a great deal of resources that we can use to solve problems, we don’t get locked into a tremendous amount of bureaucracy when we’re struggling to solve an immediate problem.

Seanan: I mean, imagine how devastating those hurricanes were.  We’ve still been able to meet the promise of our customers and helping them out through their time of need.  And the stability of our company hasn’t really flinched at all.

Mike: When people ask me where I work, I’m happy to tell them I work for State Farm, I’m proud of it, I don’t have to be apologetic about it.

Mary: There is definitely a sense of pride in working for the number one insurance organization across the country.

Mike: State Farm is a very exciting, very dynamic, very changing organization and I don’t think it matters what department you’re in right now, we’re going through a lot of changes that are making this organization better and stronger and are going to carry it well into the next 50 to 100 years.
