Accident Free Discount/ Accident Forgiveness
To reward our existing preferred policyholders on their good driving behavior, we offer an accident free discount when you maintain a clean driving record for at least 3 years.
College Student Discount
The premium on this vehicle reflects a discount for all unmarried operators under 25 years of age, who are resident students at school, college or other educational institution which is over 240 road km (150 road miles) from the residence of the named insured.
Driving Training Discount
The premium on this vehicle reflects that youthful drivers under the age of 25 have received reduced rates by successfully completing an acceptable driver education course.
Good Driving Discount
"The base premiums for the third party liability, basic accident benefits, and collision coverage's are reduced by 10% if the following requirements are met:
- New Business Policies—Each of the drivers in the household has had no convictions and no at-fault accidents during the past three years.
- Newly Acquired Added Car Policies (All other added car policies must meet the requirements for new business policies in A.1 of this rule.)
- At least one car in the household is receiving the Good Driving Discount or an Accident-Free Discount.
- Each of the drivers in the household has had no at-fault accidents during the past three years.
- There are no added drivers within 60 days before or after the application."
Graduated Licensing Discount
A Graduated Licensing Discount applies when the individual, whose use of the automobile determined the applicable classification code, has either:
- A G2 (Level 2) licence and has had no chargeable accidents or convictions while driving with a G1 (Level 1) licence
or - A G (Level 3) licence and has had no chargeable accidents or convictions while driving with a G2 (Level 2) licence.
Multiple Automobiles Discount
You may be eligible for this discount if you meet all of the following criteria:
- There are two or more private passenger automobiles primarily driven by persons residing at the address.
- The vehicles are insured with State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company or State Farm Fire and Casualty Company.
- The owners of the vehicles reside in the same household and A) are related by marriage, blood or adoption, or B) for two unrelated owners, they must jointly own the vehicles and both be designated as named insureds on the policies.
Multiple Line Discount
You may be eligible for this discount if you meet at least one of the following criteria:
- You are the named insured on a State Farm homeowners policy (including a manufactured home, condominium, farm/ranch, or renters policy) covering the named insured's principal residence.
- You are the named insured or owner of an individual life insurance product (excluding non-premium paying deferred annuities with an account balance of less than $5000 and paid-up life insurance with a face value of less than $1000).
Retiree Discount
The Retiree Discount reduces the basic accident benefits premium for a private passenger automobile when the principal operator is:
- Retired for the last 26 weeks and received no income from any office or employment, not engaged in any professional occupation, and not operating a business
and - Age 65 or older;
or
- In receipt of a pension under the Canada Pension Plan or Quebec Pension Plan;
or - In receipt of a pension registered under the Income Tax Act, Canada.
- In receipt of a pension under the Canada Pension Plan or Quebec Pension Plan;
State Farm Good Student
A person between the ages of 16 and 24, who has progressed beyond a G1 licence, who is a full-time student in high school or at a college or university, and the scholastic records for the immediately preceding school semester show that this student meets at least one of the following:
- Ranked scholastically in the upper 20% of his or her class.
- Had a grade average of B or higher.
- Had a grade point average of 3.0 (out of 4.0) or higher.
- Was included in the Dean's List or Honour Roll (or comparable listing)
Persons under age 25 who have graduated from a 3 or 4 year college or university and have a cumulative scholastic record meeting the above requirements may also be considered.
Students who are enrolled in a home study program must satisfy the scholastic requirement by submitting evidence that the student attained a Standardized Academic Grade of B or its equivalent, for a full time academic curriculum as defined by the Ministry of Education within the past twelve months.
Grade of "B" or a score in the top 20% when the test results include percentiles:
- PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test)
- SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test)
- SAT-I (Scholastic Aptitude Test-l)
- SAT-II (Scholastic Aptitude Test-ll)
- AP/SAT-II (Advance Placement/Scholastic Aptitude-ll)
- ACT (American College Test)
- GED (General Education Development Test)
- OSSD Equivalency Testing (Ontario Secondary School Diploma Equivalency Testing)
- OAC Equivalency Testing (Ontario Academic Course Equivalency Testing)
Steer Clear® Safe Driver Discount
Steer Clear Safe Driver Discount - In order to initially qualify for this discount, the following requirements must be met:
- All male and unmarried female drivers under 25 years of age who are assigned to the automobile must:
- have no at-fault accidents or moving violations in the three year period prior to the time the discount is initially applied (Note - In some states certain accidents and moving violations may not disqualify you), and
- have successfully completed the State Farm Steer Clear program, which needs to be administered by a State Farm agent. The program includes the driver watching a video presentation, reading a safe-driving magazine and completing a driver's log to document driving experiences.
- All private passenger automobiles in the household must be insured in Plan A or Plan B (however, none can be written in the Facility Association).
