Contact your State Farm Agent and report the damage in order to start the process.
- Take reasonable steps to prevent your boat from further damage.
(For example, if the engine has been submerged, discuss the feasibility of flushing and stabilizing the engine with your marina or repair facility.)
- Prepare an inventory of damaged or stolen property.
You will need:
- The description and value of the items.
- Any available bills, receipts and related documents that establish their value.
- Make sure to tell us where your watercraft is located.
- Review your policy for specific coverage information.
Claims against you
Should any party allege that property damage or bodily injury was caused by the ownership, maintenance or use of your watercraft, State Farm® will conduct an investigation to assess those allegations.
Subject to the terms and conditions of your policy, State Farm Insurance will adjust those claims in which you may be legally liable.
Injuries to you or other parties in the accident
If you or your passengers are injured in an accident resulting from the ownership, maintenance or use of your watercraft, we will investigate and pay for necessary medical expenses arising from such an accident, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy contract.
Settlement
We will pay to repair or replace your damaged property subject to the terms and conditions of your policy.

The claim payment may include the name of your lien holder. If it does, be sure to ask your lien holder about their procedure for endorsing your claim payment.
