Supplemental Medical Insurance
Supplemental Medical Insurance is the Marketing name for our Hospital Income, Hospital Indemnity, and Hospital Confinement Indemnity policy series 97024.
Exclusions and limitations
The Supplemental Medical policy does not cover confinement or expenses incurred as a result of:

Care or treatment received in an institution (including a hospital) operated as a rest home, convalescent home, home for the aged, or used primarily for care of convalescent or ambulatory patients.

War or any act or hazard of war or while in the armed services.

Normal pregnancy and childbirth; however, complications of pregnancy shall be considered as a sickness.

Any attempt at suicide, or any intentionally self-inflicted injury.

Routine well-baby care for newborn children.

Mental or nervous disorder for more than 30 days per calendar year for the same or related illness.

Any sickness or injury for which symptoms existed or medical advice or treatment was recommended or received within a five year period preceding the coverage effective date unless fully disclosed on the application and not excluded by endorsement.

Any type of hernia, hemorrhoids, or any ailment or disease of the tonsils adenoids or reproductive organs, except on a physician certified emergency basis, where confinement begins within 90 days from the date the policy becomes effective for the covered person.

This policy is Guaranteed Renewable except in the event of fraud, material misrepresentation, nonpayment of premium, or expiration of the policy.
