Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) made simple
What is EBPP and what payment methods can I use?
EBPP stands for Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment. EBPP allows you to view and pay your State Farm Insurance® bills via the Internet. You have the ability to view your current insurance bills, submit electronic payments, view previous EBPP billing and electronic payment history, choose to receive emails when your bills are ready for viewing, and stop paper bill delivery for State Farm Payment Plan accounts.
The payment methods available on EBPP are Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) from your checking or savings accounts, and Visa® or MasterCard®. If credit card is available for your bills, you will see the credit card option in your list of available payment methods on the "Authorize Payment" page for the bills you have selected to pay.
If you have any questions regarding payment options please contact your State Farm® agent. Your Agent is in the best position to answer your question and to help select the billing option that is right for you.

How to start or stop email notices:
- Login to EBPP.

- Click the check box next to "Check here to receive email notices of your bills."
- Verify your email address if you are starting email notices, correct if needed
- Click "Apply", your selection will be saved
When I authorize a payment, when is the payment processed?
Processing begins the day you authorize a payment. Generally, your policy/account will be credited one business day after your payment is submitted online. You may refer to EBPP Terms and Conditions of Use and FAQ's for more detail.
Funds will be withdrawn from your bank account one business day after you authorize a payment. In most cases, changes to your credit card will be processed the same day you authorize a payment.
Authorized payments will be reflected on EBPP within 24 hours. However, because payments are processed nightly Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), the Policy Amount Due listed on your Policy Information page may not reflect the payment for up to 2 business days.
Duplicate Payments -- Duplicate payments are defined as two or more payments on the same Insurance policy or SFPP account, for the same amount, and authorized on the same business day. End of business day is 3:15 PM Mountain Standard Time. In order to minimize customer impact from unintentional payments, State Farm processes duplicate payments as follows:
- Only one (1) payment will be processed if multiple payments are made using the same bank account and submitted within 15 minutes of each other.
- All payments will be processed if different bank accounts and/or credit cards are used for each payment.
- All payments will be processed if one or more credit cards are used. If only one credit card is used and the payments were submitted within 15 minutes of each other, you will be contacted and given instructions on how to receive a refund if a duplicate payment was not intended.
Why is my bill not available to pay?
- If you make your premium payments monthly, you may have a State Farm Payment Plan (SFPP) account. In order to view and pay your bills on-line, you must request access to your policies/accounts.
- To request online access to your policies/accounts, login to your "Welcome" page using your customer ID and password.
- In the "Insurance" section, choose the link to add more policies/accounts to pay and view online.
- On the "Add Policies & Payment Plans to Pay & View Online" page, enter the type of policy or payment plan, the policy/account number, and the state in which your policy or payment plan was issued.
- A Confirmation page will display. Review the information you entered and click Continue if the data is correct.
- A Thank You page will display. You will have access to the policy or account requested, along with any associated policies and accounts, in as little as 2 hours.
- If your bill is past due, there are limitations on how far past the due date payments will be accepted through EBPP. This varies by policy and bill type. Only bills on the "Pay Online " page are eligible for EBPP payments.
- If there are no bills on your Pay Online, and Bill and Payment Activity web pages, it is possible a bill has not been prepared for your policy. If you sign up to receive an email notification on the EBPP Billing Preferences web page, you will be notified when your bill is prepared.
- Not all notice types will be available on EBPP. Some non-payment cancellation notices, bills for Life PAC (Pre-Authorized Payment) accounts, bills including a Renewal Coverage Offer and bills that are billed to a mortgage company are not eligible to be paid on EBPP at this time. If you have a question regarding a particular notice that is not presented on EBPP, please contact your State Farm agent.
Why don't all the payments I've made on my account show up on Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP)?
Currently, only payments made online will be displayed on the EBPP pages.
Payments made by other methods are not reflected on EBPP pages at this time.
To view payment for bills paid by other methods:
- Click on the policy number link of a specific policy.
- Choose "Policy Information" on the left side.
- Scroll to "Billing" for the most recent payment to this policy.

I requested access to my policy for payment, why is it not showing up?
Only the owner or "named insured" of a policy can be given access to that policy. Please contact your State Farm agent for questions about ownership or names on a policy or account.
Examples of Policy Ownership or Being the "Named Insured": Florence would like to view both her life insurance and her husband Ed's life insurance on her statefarm.com® online account summary. However, Florence is not listed as an owner on Ed's policy, and therefore cannot view his policy on her account summary.
Ed can request his life policy for online viewing. He will need to complete the registration process, creating his own unique customer ID, using his own customer information.
However, both Florence and Ed can request access to the same auto policy or homeowners policy on which they are both a named insured.
Example of Paying Bills Online (When You Are Not Named on the Policy): Susan is handling her Aunt Becky's bills, and she would like to pay Becky's car insurance bill online, using statefarm.com®. However, Susan is not named on Becky's policy. Therefore, she cannot view Becky's policies on statefarm.com.
However, if Susan and Becky pay their insurance premiums through a State Farm Payment Plan account, Susan can request online access to the payment account number and pay that bill online if her name is also on the payment plan.
