Investor Profile: You may want to invest in the Money Market Fund if you require stability of principal, are seeking an investment for the cash portion of an asset allocation program, are looking for an investment with a lower degree of risk during uncertain economic times or periods of stock market volatility, and/or consider yourself a saver rather than an investor. You can open an account in this fund with a minimum initial investment of $250 ($50 by automatic investment).
You may not want to invest in the Money Market Fund if you are seeking an investment that is likely to significantly outpace inflation, are investing for retirement or other long term goals and/or are investing for growth or maximum current income.
Investment Objective: Seeks to maximize current income to the extent consistent with the preservation of capital and maintenance of liquidity.
Investment Strategy: Unlike the other Funds, the Money Market Fund seeks to maintain a stable net asset value of $1.00 per share. The Fund invests exclusively in short-term, U.S. dollar-denominated money market securities, including those issued by U.S. and foreign financial institutions, corporate issuers, the U.S. Government and its agencies and instrumentalities, municipalities, foreign governments, and multi-national organizations, such as the World Bank.
Please read the Prospectus for more detailed information on expenses.
Risks
Because of the types of securities that the Money Market Fund invests in and their short-term nature, the level of risk associated with the Money Market Fund is lower than most other types of mutual funds. However, an investment in the Fund involves the following risks:
The 7-day Current Yield (%) reflects the "net" yield for each share class, after Fund expenses. Given the current low "gross" yield (before expense) environment for short-term money market securities, State Farm Investment Management Corp. and/or State Farm VP Management Corp. have elected to waive all or a portion of their fees due from the Fund to prevent the Fund's yield from decreasing below zero. This fee waiver, which is voluntary, may be discontinued by State Farm Investment Management Corp. and/or State Farm VP Management Corp. at any time. The new voluntary fee waiver also may reduce the Fund's net annual operating expenses to a level below the net level shown in the above table. For more information, please read "State Farm to Temporarily Waive Money Market Fund Fees" or contact the Securities Response Center at 1-800-447-4930.
It is important to note that there is market risk involved when investing in mutual funds, including possible loss of principal.
An automatic investment plan does not assure a profit and does not protect against loss in declining markets. An automatic investment plan involves continuous investment in securities regardless of fluctuating prices. You should consider your financial ability to continue purchases through periods of high or low price levels.
An investment in a money market fund is not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or any other government agency. Although the fund seeks to preserve the value of your investment at $1.00 per share, it is possible to lose money by investing in the fund.
Notwithstanding the preceding statements, the Fund is participating in the U.S. Treasury’s Temporary Guarantee Program for Money Market Funds. The program generally does not guarantee any new investments in the funds made after September 19, 2008 and is scheduled to expire on September 18, 2009.
