Economics Arkansas and State Farm® Work Together to Promote Financial Literacy

Economics Arkansas Promotes Financial Literacy

State Farm has given an $8,000 grant to Economics Arkansas, an affiliate with State Farm's national partner, the National Council for Economic Education, to promote economic literacy in Arkansas.

The grant will help fund the Economics Arkansas "Stock Market Game" in elementary, middle, and high schools across the state in 2010. The Stock Market Game teaches students higher-level thinking skills, math skills, social studies, current events, and economics. Last year, more than 11,000 students participated in Economics Arkansas classes and competition.

A portion of the grant will also go toward the training of Arkansas teachers in these materials on Economics.

As a provider of financial services, promoting greater economic awareness and education is a key fit that aligns with State Farm's business plan and community involvement.
