State Farm® Adjusts South Dakota Auto Insurance Rates
Lincoln, NE (April 3, 2015) – State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, the largest insurer of autos in South Dakota and in the nation, is raising its overall rate level in South Dakota an average of 5% effective April 20, 2015.
After this rate change is implemented, the overall rate level of State Farm in South Dakota will be 3.6% lower than it was 17 years ago.
Liability and medical payment coverages increased the most. Comprehensive and collision coverages rate levels are also being increased with this change.
The comprehensive coverage pays for losses from such perils as theft, storm damage, fire, vandalism, and glass breakage.
Overall premium changes for individual motorists will vary depending on factors such as the coverages they carry, the discounts for which they qualify, where they live, the kind of car insured, who drives it, and how much it is driven.
About one in every 6 cars insured in South Dakota is insured by State Farm.
