IT/Systems – Data Analyst Intern

State Farm®, headquartered in Bloomington, Illinois, is offering hands-on IT work along with real-world research and development opportunities for students. The Systems/Information Technology department is involved in exploring new and emerging technologies. State Farm continues to refine and expand the use of technology for employees, agents and customers. Each summer, State Farm offers an 11-week paid internship at locations in Bloomington, Illinois; Atlanta, Georgia; Dallas, Texas and Phoenix, Arizona.

Data Analyst interns at State Farm design, create, alter, validate and maintain data solutions, across multiple platforms and computing environments that meet business needs. Data Analyst internships are offered in:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering majors
  • High level understanding and/or experience with logical and physical data modeling
  • Skills Desired: DB2, SQL Server, Oracle; Hadoop, MapReduce; DB Administration; PostgreSQL, Linux RDBMS; Mathematics & Statistics coursework; Cognos, Qlikview, SAS, R, SPSS; Experience with Data Analysis, Data Modeling or Movement, Data Visualization

    • May 22, 2017 to August 4, 2017 (Bloomington)
    • May 14, 2017 to July 31, 2017 (Phoenix, Atlanta, Dallas)
  • Hourly Rate (Bloomington, Phoenix, Atlanta):
    • $20.00/hour for first year interns
    • $22.00/hour for returning interns
  • Hourly Rate (Dallas):
    • $22.00/hour for first year interns
    • $24.00/hour for returning interns
  • Housing:
    • Provided for Bloomington-based interns
    • Stipend available to Hub-based interns
  • Paid holidays (dependent upon your start date): Memorial Day, 4th of July
