IT/Systems – Security Analyst Intern

State Farm®, headquartered in Bloomington, Illinois, is offering hands-on analyst work along with real-world research and development opportunities for students. The Systems/Information Technology department is involved in exploring new and emerging technologies. State Farm continues to refine and expand the use of technology for employees, agents, and customers. Each summer, State Farm offers an 11-week paid internship at locations in Bloomington, Illinois; Atlanta, Georgia; Dallas, Texas and Phoenix, Arizona.

Security Analyst interns at State Farm design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure and systems that integrate capabilities and technologies to address identified risks and enable IT solutions. Security Analyst Internships are offered in two areas:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering majors
  • Skills Desired: Network Security (Firewall, Proxy, IDS/IPS); Platform Security (Windows, Unix/Linux, Mainframe); Antivirus; Cryptography; Application Security (Secured code, Development consulting) Middleware/Tool; Data Leakage Protection; Security Information Event Management; Identity Management and Authentication; Vulnerability Assessment

  • Locations:
    • Bloomington, Illinois
    • Phoenix, Arizona
    • Dallas, Texas 
    • Atlanta, Georgia
  • Dates: 
    • May 22, 2017 to August 4, 2017 (Bloomington)
    • May 14, 2017 to July 31, 2017 (Phoenix, Atlanta, Dallas) 
  • Hourly Rate: (Bloomington, Phoenix, Atlanta):
    • $20.00/hour for first year interns
    • $22.00/hour for returning interns
  • Hourly Rate: (Dallas):
    • $22.00/hour for first year interns
    • $24.00/hour for returning interns
  • Housing:
    • Provided for Bloomington-based interns
    • Stipend available to Hub-based interns
  • Paid holidays (dependent upon your start date): Memorial Day, 4th of July
