BANKING

Underwriting Standards

State Farm Bank® Underwriting standards refer to the terms and conditions under which we extend credit.

State Farm Bank offers a variety of loan products, including mortgages, vehicle loans, home equity products and credit cards. You may submit an application for any of these products at any time. State Farm Bank will accept and evaluate an application for any of these products from any applicant.

State Farm Bank deposit accounts are FDIC insured.

Upon receipt of an application, State Farm Bank will obtain a copy of your credit bureau report(s). We will then evaluate your credit report(s), verify the information you supplied on your application, assess your transactional history with State Farm Bank and evaluate your debt-to-income ratio. If the application is for a secured credit, we will also consider/verify the collateral including type, value and sufficiency. State Farm Bank does not consider an applicant's age, race, color, religion, national origin, gender, marital status, familial status, handicap status, the fact that all or part of applicant's income derives from any public assistance program, or that the applicant has in good faith exercised any right under the Consumer Credit Protection Act in making a credit decision.

If you meet the underwriting guidelines for the type of credit requested based on the Bank's established credit policy, we will advise you that your loan has been approved. If you do not meet the established underwriting guidelines for the type of credit requested based on the Bank's established credit policy, we will notify you of this decision and the basis for the decision.
