Select Service is a customer choice program consisting of network service providers who manage national networks of mitigation, flooring, general contracting, and roofing contractors, designed to help you recover from the unexpected following a covered loss. This program is voluntary for policyholders.
Select Service™ Home Repair Program
Roofing
Network service providers can assist with identifying and selecting a roofing contractor to provide an estimate and complete roofing repairs.
Mitigation
Network service providers can assist with identifying and selecting 24-hour response for water mitigation and smoke cleaning services.
General Contractor
Network service providers can assist with identifying and selecting a general contractor to provide an estimate and complete home repairs
Flooring
Network service providers can assist with identifying and selecting a local flooring vendor for repair or replacement.
These programs may not be available in all locations.

Your claim handler will assist you in determining if your claim is eligible for the Select Service Home Repair Program.
Select Service-Roofing
What are the benefits?
- Simple, convenient process
- Contact within two business hours of assignment
- Access to local, vetted contractors
- Direct payment to the service provider for replacement cost benefits (no deduction for depreciation)
- Five-year workmanship warranty
How does it work for roofing?
- Opt in to the Select Service Home Repair Program.
- State Farm will send an electronic assignment to a network service provider in your area who will support you throughout the repair process.
- The network service provider will match you with a background checked, local roofing contractor available in your ZIP Code.
- The roofing contractor will inspect your roof for covered damages, write an estimate and submit it to the network service provider.
- The network service provider will review the estimate for accuracy and then return the estimate to State Farm.
- State Farm reviews the estimate and contacts you.
- Payment is issued directly to the contractor, once you have approved the completed repairs.
- You will pay your deductible directly to the contractor.
- You will receive a five-year workmanship warranty on the work performed to your home.

- Direct payment to the service provider

How does it work for mitigation?
- Choose a participating independent service provider; your claim handler can provide you with names of participating independent service providers.
- We will notify the independent service provider you select of the assignment.
- Schedule an appointment when the independent service provider contacts you.
- You approve the estimate and authorize repairs.
- You pay your deductible to the independent service provider.
- You authorize final payment to the independent service provider upon satisfactory completion of repairs.
Select Service-General Contractor
What are the benefits?
- Simple, convenient process
- Access to available service providers
- Contact within three business hours of assignment
- Five-year workmanship warranty
How does it work for general contractor?
- Choose a network service provider or participating independent service provider; your claim handler can provide you with names of participating providers.
- We will notify the network service provider on your behalf.
- The network service provider or participating independent service provider contacts you to assist with identifying and selecting a contractor who can provide an estimate and perform the repairs.
- General contractor schedules an appointment with you to inspect the damage.
- General contractor returns the estimate to the network service provider and State Farm for review.
- State Farm reviews the estimate and contacts you.
- State Farm issues payment directly to you (and your mortgage company if applicable).
- You can hire the general contractor who completed your estimate or choose any other contractor/service provider to complete the repairs.
Select Service-Flooring
What are the benefits?
- Simple, convenient process
- Access to available service providers
- Contact within three business hours of assignment
- Five-year workmanship warranty
How does it work for flooring?
- Flooring company schedules an appointment with you to inspect
- They return the estimate to State Farm for review.
- State Farm reviews the estimate and contacts you.
- State Farm issues payment directly to you (and your mortgage company if applicable).
- You can hire the flooring company who completed your estimate or choose any other service provider to complete the repairs.
Can I use my own contractor?
You can choose the independent contractor or service provider you prefer. Note: The benefits listed above are only available if you use the Select Service Home Repair Program.
