Online Insurance Accounts

• What is my User ID and/or Logon ID?

  The user/logon ID is created during Registration.   If you have already registered online, you may use the ‘Forgot User ID’ and/or ‘Forgot Password’ links on www.statefarm.com.

• Why am I unable to access/logon to my spouse's account online? We are listed on the same policy.

  For security reasons, each statefarm.com online account can only be listed in one name and date of birth. Each named insured on the policy may register their individual online account.

• Why can't I see my policy online? Why am I getting a message that I am not authorized to view the policy?

  The agent’s office does not have you listed as a named insured on the policy. Please contact your agent to have this corrected.

• Why am I unable to view my bank account online? I cannot see or click on my bank account.

  The bank account is not active or not listed in the caller’s name.  Please contact State Farm Bank at
  1-877-SF4-BANK (1-877-734-2265).

• Why am I unable to access my business policy online?

  Business accounts do not have online access at the present time, but there are plans to include them in the future.

• How can I print a new insurance card online?

  Insurance cards can be printed online or you may also request the ID card to be mailed to you. To print the insurance card online, please login to your online account, select the auto policy in reference, and then click the View/Print Documents link on the Auto Policy Information page. Once you access our Document Center, the electronic document will be titled "ID Card…"
  
  To request that the insurance card be mailed to you, please click the Request Insurance Cards link that appears on the Auto Policy Information page or you may contact your agent.
  
  New policyholders who purchased insurance online can download temporary insurance cards and binders by clicking on the link contained in your confirmation email or by going to your online secure messaging mailbox. This information is only available for 30 days after purchasing the policy online.

• How can I print my declaration page online?

  Because of technical limitations, the declaration page is not available online but may be provided by your agent. Some coverage information is available by clicking on your policy number under your My Account page; however, this information does not constitute proof of coverage.

• Can I change my agent online?

  There is not an option to change your agent online; however, if you would like to request a new agent you can do so by sending us an email containing your name and contact information.

• Can I change my coverage online?

  Yes, you may request changes to your coverage online; however, the request will be forwarded to your agent for processing.  To do the online request, you must log onto your account and select the policy you want to change, and then select the Quote/Change Coverages link on that page. 

• Can I add a driver to my account online?

  You can only do a request that will be sent over to your agent’s office for processing.  To do this request, you must log onto your account and select the policy you want to change, and then select the Add a Driver link on this page.

• How do I start/stop paperless billing?

  Note: Paperless billing is only available for customers that utilize a State Farm Payment Plan to pay their insurance premium.
  
  Once you have logged onto your online account, click the "+" next to your State Farm Payment Plan and then select Manage paperless billing. Click the checkbox by Discontinue your SFPP account paper bills… and the preference to Receive email notices… will automatically pre-select, if not already chosen. Then click on Apply. Your billing preference will be applied to your next billing statement.

• Why is the system saying I have an amount due when I made the payment through my agent's office?

  It could take up to 24 hours for a payment made in your agent’s office to reflect online.  If it has been 24 hours, please contact your agent’s office.  (Note: To see the most recent payment made, you may click on the policy number and look at the most recent payment).

• What is the location or phone number to a claim office?

  You may use the Claim Office Locator to locate a claim office near you.

• How do I file a claim?

  • There are several ways to file a claim.  (Note: A policy number is required to file a claim)

  • You may file a claim by contacting your agent’s office.
  • You may utilize the Insurance Claim Center site.
  • You may utilize the ‘Non Registered Customers’ or ‘Not a State Farm Customer’ option(s) on the Check the Status of a Claim site.
  • You may also use the Claim Office Locator to locate a Claim Office near you.
  • Smartphone users may use State Farm’s mobile offerings, such as the Pocket Agent application or mobile website, to obtain a quote.

• What is the phone number to Customer Service?

• How do I cancel my policy?

  Your relationship with State Farm means a lot to us and it's one we want you to be confident in and happy with. We'll help you do whatever you feel is best for you and the people in your life — even if that means cancelling your policy.
  
  To cancel your State Farm insurance policy, please call your agent.
  
  Before you cancel, consider everything.
  
  Cancelling your insurance policy is a significant step, so make sure it's the best decision for you. If you're trying to save money, you may be able to lower your premium without cancelling.
  
  Remember not to judge a policy by its premium alone. What looks like a cheaper rate on a similar policy may leave you with inadequate coverage. For auto insurance, ask your agent for a Discount Double Check®. They'll help you take advantage of all the discounts you're eligible for.
  
  Whatever life changes you experience, we offer discounts and insurance policies to meet your needs. If you call to cancel, that's a perfect time to ask your agent about the options that are available to you.

• Is there a toll free number for a rate quote?

  1-800-STATE FARM (1-800-782-8332) is the main State Farm number.  This number will direct you to an agent near you during the day and to After Hour Quote & Bind representative during after-hours and weekends.  This works for English and Spanish callers.  Spanish-speaking customers may also obtain a quote by calling 1-877-274-0543.

• Is my account number the same as my policy number?

  No, your account number is the 10 digit number associated with your SF payment plan.  You may or may not use a payment plan to combine different lines of business into one payment or to break up your payments into smaller amounts.

• Where do I find information about Drive Safe and Save?

  You may use the ‘Drive Safe and Save’ link or search for ‘Drive Safe and Save’ in the search field. 

• Where do I find information about the Steer Clear Discount?

  You may use the ‘Steer Clear Discount’ link or search for ‘Steer Clear’ in the search field.

• Where do I locate a Personal Property Inventory Form?

  You may retrieve this form from the Home Inventory Site or search www.statefarm.com for ‘personal property inventory’.
