State Farm® Lloyds Rate Settlement - FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions are subject to change as additional details are finalized.

Why am I getting a refund check?

State Farm Lloyds reached a settlement with the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) and the Office of Public Insurance Counsel (OPIC) over previous residential property insurance rates earlier this year. State Farm Lloyds believes this settlement allows us to continue to focus on serving our customers.

The settlement concerns residential property insurance rates in place between September 7, 2003, and July 31, 2008. Most customers who had homeowners, renters or condo policies with State Farm Lloyds in that period will receive refund checks as part of this $352.5 million settlement agreement.

The Consent Order [PDF-60.5KB] provides all the details of the settlement. The refund and interest dollar amounts included in the Consent Order are estimates.
