How do I set up an external transfer account?
Transfer to External Accounts - No need to worry about driving all over town from bank to bank. If you have the routing and account numbers of an external account, click the "Get Started with External Transfers" link to set up transfer options. This link will take you to the "Add an External Transfer Account" page where you can enter all your information for other accounts. Follow the steps to validate the account. Then you're good to go!
First, make sure you have access to view your new State Farm Bank account online. You will be able to transfer funds to and from accounts at external banks provided you are the owner of the external account(s). We recommend you have online access to the external accounts. State Farm Bank will verify your access to the external account by having you confirm two small test deposit transactions. Each transaction will be less than $1.00. Within the next three business days, an email will be sent to you detailing the steps to take to complete the process. Upon successful test deposit transaction verification, your external transfer account is listed in the drop-down menu on the Make an External Transfer page. Once the external transfer account is active, click ‘make an external transfer' and follow the prompts to complete the transfer process.
You may also use our Authorization for ACH Transfer of Account Opening Deposit form to fund your new account. Use our Preauthorized Transfer Request [PDF-111.4KB] to set up recurring transfers from your already funded checking, savings, money market, health savings, or IRA money market account.
