Take Control of Your Discount With Drive Safe & Save™

Drive Safe & Save collects mileage and, in some cases, basic driving characteristics, but we only use this information to calculate your discount. However, if you currently receive a premium reduction for low estimated annual mileage (under 7,500 miles annually for personal use) and your vehicle is actually driven more than that, your premium may increase at a future policy renewal.

Drive Safe & Save is always a discount if compared to a similarly rated policy without Drive Safe & Save. Please contact your State Farm agent if you have further questions or for more information.

Your discount is adjusted at each policy renewal (typically every six months) and will be based on information collected from up to the previous 18 months.

Your initial discount will be applied as of the effective date Drive Safe & Save is added to your policy. If your current policy term is paid in full, and the discount generates a credit of $10.00 or more, you will receive a refund check.

If the discount generates a credit of less than $10.00, the credit will be applied to your next policy term.

If there is a balance due for the current policy term, you will receive a revised balance due notice.

If your policy is on the State Farm Payment Plan (SFPP), a credit will be applied to the SFPP account and your monthly payment will be adjusted accordingly.

Drive Safe & Save Mobile (most states) and Drive Safe & Save with Self Report (CA only) have no model year restrictions for eligible private passenger vehicles.

No. Drive Safe & Save is optional and is vehicle specific. You can make the decision to enroll for each individual household vehicle.

Drive Safe & Save is strictly an optional program. Customers who choose not to participate will continue to have their auto policies rated based on the annual mileage estimates provided to State Farm.

The Drive Safe & Save with In-Drive product option has been sunset for new enrollments, transfers, and reactivations. State Farm is no longer receiving driving data from the In-Drive device. However, if you stayed enrolled with an active In-Drive subscription through November 15, 2016, you keep your discount opportunity for approximately a year after that date. If you are replacing your vehicle, talk to your State Farm agent about the Drive Safe & Save options available for your new vehicle. Your replacement vehicle will not be eligible for Drive Safe & Save with In-Drive.

Because the In-Drive equipment (Communicator and Visor Clip) includes a lithium battery, it's important that you dispose of it in a safe and environmentally responsible way.
