Competitive Alabama auto insurance discounts and potential savings

You may be eligible for a discount for taking a defensive driving course if you meet all of the following criteria:

• Are an eligible insured driver of the vehicle.
• You are at least 55 years of age.
• Have voluntarily completed an automobile course, as appropriate, within the last three years. Such course must:
  • Be sponsored by the National Safety Council, the American Automobile Association, or the AARP, or shall be an equivalent program sponsored by the Department of Public Safety
  • Provide for a minimum of six (6) hours of actual classroom or online instruction
  • The instructors for the course must be certified by the sponsoring entity and the contents of the course must be outlined by the sponsoring entity.

A certificate must be presented to State Farm showing the course was successfully completed.
