Competitive Utah auto insurance discounts and potential savings

You may be eligible for a discount for taking a defensive driving course if you meet all of the following criteria:

1. Are 55 years old or older.
2. Have completed a motor vehicle accident prevention course which meets the guidelines specified in Utah Code Annotated 3/A-19a-211 within the last 3 years.

A certificate must be presented to State Farm showing the course was successfully completed.

Discount Term and Renewal

The discount will begin at the inception date (new policies) or is applied midterm as of the completion date of the course (existing policies). The discount applies for a period of three years, at the end of which, the insured must provide evidence that the course has been successfully repeated to renew the discount.

Termination of the discount will occur:

• At the first renewal date (following three years from the course completion date unless State Farm receives evidence of recertification)
• At the first renewal date after the Company is made aware of a moving violation or at-fault accident by the qualifying driver.
