While there are different business functions in different locations, the working environment and day-to-day demands of customer service careers apply to all. What is it like?

Customer service environments are highly structured and designed for high volume, with shared work spaces. Workflows and performance measures are closely monitored. Positions involve possible shift work, including nights, weekends and holidays.

What does it take?

Customer service roles require strong relationship-building, listening and communication skills, and extensive multitasking abilities with phone and computer. Some positions require licensing. Others require bilingual (Spanish) fluency.

Claims is a big, vital part of our organization. Most of our current hiring is for Claim Associates to handle initial loss reporting and "express" claims.

Customer Care Center

Our Customer Care Center (CCC) serves as a partner to the State Farm agency force and creates a consistent experience for customers, no matter how or when they interact with State Farm. We provide exceptional customer care that meets multiple needs of our customers.

State Farm Bank®

Bank Customer Service Representatives play a key role in assisting State Farm Bank customers, agents, and employees. State Farm Bank offers a variety of customer service roles such as loan underwriting, back-office account processing, collections, and many more.

State Farm Payment Plan (SFPP)

SFPP provides flexible billing and payment options for our customers. SFPP Representatives handle calls from agents and agent team members regarding billing-related services and troubleshooting.


We are hiring Auto and Fire Underwriting Service Assistants and Life/Health Customer Service Assistants to process policy changes, utilize critical thinking skills to collect missing policy information from agents, and respond to agent and customer billing and process questions.

Life/Health/Mutual Funds

Our employees help our customers prepare for, recover from, and manage the challenges of everyday life from finances and healthcare to preparing families for the unexpected loss of a loved one. Our Life/Health Response Center employees provide inbound call center customer service for life and health insurance products, while licensed Mutual Funds Response Center employees provide inbound call center customer service for the investment products that State Farm offers (Mutual Funds, Annuities and Variable Products). Customer Service Assistants and Representatives serve as first-level contacts for customers, agents and agent staff. Life Response Centers are located in Bloomington, Illinois; Dallas, Texas; Greeley, Colorado; and New Albany, Ohio. Mutual Funds Response Centers are located in Bloomington, Illinois and Dallas, Texas.
