State Farm®, headquartered in Bloomington, Illinois, is offering hands-on analyst work along with real-world research and development opportunities for students. The Systems/Information Technology department is involved in exploring new and emerging technologies. State Farm continues to refine and expand the use of technology for employees, agents, and customers. Each summer, State Farm offers an 11-week paid internship at locations in Bloomington, Illinois; Atlanta, Georgia; Dallas, Texas and Phoenix, Arizona.

Roles/Responsibilities

IT Analyst – IT Solutions interns at State Farm provide IT product and/or process subject matter expertise necessary to support design, development and execution of IT Solutions.

IT Analysts within IT Solutions possess an appropriate level of technical acumen which facilitates the outcome of technical solutions:

  • Provide IT process and/or product subject matter expertise necessary to support development and execution of IT Solutions (e.g. service management, service delivery, IT architecture, Implementation Coordination, Release Coordination).
  • Apply IT knowledge and skills to propose action, provide technical coordination, or conduct implementation activities to drive IT solutions.
  • Create, analyze, coordinate and document complex IT projects, products and processes and provide resolution recommendations.
  • Conduct research, gather and interpret requirements, conduct analysis and/or develop recommendations related to IT processes and/or products.
  • Create/update reports, and propose action and/or implementation plans to assist leadership in decision-making and drive the work to conclusion.
  • Act as a liaison/coordinator within the Systems Department, other Departments, as well as entities outside of State Farm.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering majors
  • Skills Desired: Business Communications, Business Needs Analysis, Requirements Documentation, Implementation Coordination

  • Hourly Rate (Bloomington, Phoenix, Atlanta):
    • $20.00/hour for first year interns
    • $22.00/hour for returning interns
  • Hourly Rate (Dallas):
    • $22.00/hour for first year interns
    • $24.00/hour for returning interns
  • Housing:
    • Provided for Bloomington-based interns
    • Stipend available to Hub-based interns
  • Paid holidays (dependent upon your start date): Memorial Day, 4th of July
