State Farm Bank is seeking motivated college students who are entering their senior year to participate in an 11-week hands-on internship program that provides a foundational understanding of the Bank. Interns also have the opportunity to participate in professional and personal development sessions. Selected candidates who are successful will be evaluated for potential future internships in another area of Bank and full-time employment opportunities.

Roles/Responsibilities/Opportunities

Business Analyst General Internships expose interns to areas which support Bank product and operational teams, as well as Bank leadership. A variety of Bank areas host interns at our corporate facilities in Bloomington, Illinois, such as:

  • Operations Support
  • Process and Technology
  • Strategy
  • Security
  • Product Support Services (Vehicle Lending, Home Finance, Financial Cards)

Business Analyst Analytical Internships expose interns to areas which provide analytical research and support to Bank product teams and Bank leadership. Interns will research and provide analysis and recommendations to leadership, for various projects and must have the ability to understand a hypothesis, mine the data, and analyze the data into a summary document to enable business decisions. A variety of Bank areas host interns at our corporate facilities in Bloomington, Illinois, such as:

  • Product Support Services (Vehicle Lending, Home Finance, Financial Cards)
  • Compliance
  • Credit
  • Analytics

Preferred Qualifications

State Farm Bank – Business Analyst (General) Intern

  • All Majors
  • 3.2 GPA or higher
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Candidates should demonstrate initiative, ability to drive results, and possess strong communication and relationship-building skills

State Farm Bank – Business Analyst (Analytical) Intern

  • Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuary majors
  • 3.2 GPA or higher
  • Programming experience in SAS or other programming languages
  • Understanding of data analytics
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Candidates should demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness, and possess strong written and oral communication skills

Internship Information

  • Location: Bloomington, Illinois
  • Dates: Offers Fall, Spring and Summer Internships
  • Paid holidays: Memorial Day and 4th of July
  • Housing:
    • Provided for Bloomington-based interns
    • Stipend available to Hub-based interns
  • Entry into this job may require passing a background check, including credit
  • Hourly Rates: based on a 38.75 hour work week
    • Business Analyst General Intern: $15.00/hour
    • Business Analyst Analytical Intern: $16.00/hour
