Best thing about the internship

Insurance-wise, State Farm is at the top. I will always be in the insurance field. Whether it leads to full-time employment or if I don't come back, the experience I've gotten here will look amazing on my résumé.

Greatest memory of the internship program

It's nice to see that the 11 weeks I spent here wasn't just doing busy work or just something to give me experience. I'm actually not only getting experience, but doing something productive and helpful for my department.

Biggest challenge for you

It's a lot of technical stuff too. They spend the whole beginning part of the internship teaching us Excel, SAS and Access, and all those computer things we may not have learned at school.

Most surprising thing you've learned about State Farm

Everything is very organized. They don't really give you a lot of opportunities to feel like you're getting lost here.

One suggestion for incoming interns

I like the idea that my roommates this summer aren't just actuarial science majors. I do get to know people from other fields.

Reasonable Accommodation Assistance

If you need assistance during the application or hiring process to accommodate a disability, you may request a reasonable accommodation by contacting Career Center Support or your State Farm contact.
