Best thing about the internship
The networking was incredible. I have had the opportunity to job shadow many people and departments all across the enterprise (not just in the bank) and know that they will greatly increase my chances of becoming a full-time State Farm employee after college.
Greatest memory of the internship program
My greatest memory was the Founder's Day celebration in the Corporate South Atrium. It was incredible to see everyone wearing their State Farm red shirts. That sea of red showed me how much the employees sincerely enjoy working here. It's not just a job, it really is a lifestyle.
Biggest challenge for you
My biggest challenge was learning how to act in a business setting according to the situation. It took me a while to find that balance between professionalism and still having a good time while I'm at work. I have since learned that technique, and it has really helped me to become a more well-rounded individual.
Most surprising thing you've learned about State Farm
Before I was offered a position here, I was not aware that State Farm had a bank. It has been great to learn about their market share, customers, competitive rates, and the products that the bank offers.
One suggestion for incoming interns
Enjoy your time here. If you do your work and enjoy being here, State Farm and its employees will treat you right. This is a great place to intern!
