Why did my State Farm® bill increase?

There are a few reasons why your State Farm bill might have gone up.

Premium rate increase

If you noticed that your premium (the amount you are billed for your policy) is higher than it was previously, it could be because we recently reviewed and made changes to the factors and rates that are used to calculate insurance premiums in your area.

Typically, this happens because of an industry-wide changes, such as new laws or industry regulations, increases in repair costs, or an increase in claim activity in your state.

To find out if your premium rate increased, you can check your most recent renewal notice or billing statement located in your Document Center for more information. When reviewing your documents, look for any information on adjustments to your premium or specific changes to your policy.

Fees

If your premium amount did not change, but your bill appears to be higher than usual, check your billing statement to see if you were charged any fees.
