Community First

Like a good neighbor, State Farm® continues to bring communities together and when you put the community first, good things happen.

In 2009, Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC), an organization promoting the wellbeing of Arizona's socially and economically deprived communities, and State Farm celebrated the opening of the 40,000-square-foot Buckeye Commerce Plaza facility. In 2011, these new restaurants were the result of a partnership to create opportunities for small business owners to succeed with resources and support from CPLC. To build business and economics in the area, State Farm made a below market rate loan to support a commercial strip mall with additional funding provided to grow neighborhood small businesses.

The facility, attractively constructed and surrounded by green space and sidewalks, provides commercial space to be filled by businesses, including a State Farm Agency field office. It will also bring economic activity and neighborhood vitality to the Buckeye corridor.

"When you're focused on doing what's right, it's amazing how all the partners come together and are able to work together so easily," State Farm Public Affairs — Community Development Director Lori Manning said. "It's not simply about money. It's about putting the community first. … It's very reassuring and it just feels right."

CPLC has been Arizona's leading community development corporation for 40 years, and for more than a decade it has counted on State Farm as a strong partner to support its efforts.

Three new restaurants, Samurai Sam's, Blimpie, and Frullati Café, recently celebrated with a grand opening at the Buckeye Commerce Plaza in Phoenix, AZ.

CPLC New Agency State Farm has been a key business development partner for CPLC in recent years and is looking to extend the State Farm brand through a strong agency presence represented by Agent Ryan Clemens.
